All TAKE A NOTE dated planners use Tomoe River S paper. In 2027, we continue with this familiar paper choice, so those who know TAKE A NOTE can enjoy a consistent writing experience.
Tomoe River S is light, smooth, and highly responsive to a range of writing tools, including fountain pens, pencils, and ballpoint pens. Thin yet resilient, it keeps a full year of planning light in the hand and makes every page a comfortable place to write.
From Yearly Direction to Daily Records
Yearly calendars, horizontal annual Gantt charts, vertical annual/project plans, monthly plans, and weekly plans flow naturally together, bringing long-term direction and daily progress into one planner.
The monthly plan runs from December 2026 to March 2028, covering 16 months. The weekly plan covers all of 2027, with two days per page and four pages per week, leaving room for schedules, records, and thoughts from each day.
Mini monthly calendars, mini weekly calendars, and a vertical timeline are integrated into each weekly page, making it easy to locate the current week and plan time around your own routine. As a neurodivergent and a writer, I always needed some sort of journal-planner-notebook hybrid to organize my daily life. For years, all I ever used were thick dotted journal ntbks (compariso in mid picture) and I create my own layout for calendars, lists and to-do because I find pre-dated planners available in malls include so many unnecessary parts in the daily pages like quotes and drawings. I don't really need that and would rather you leave that occupied space for me to write on. The 2 days per page layout is also the format I have been doing on my prev ntbks so I am already familiar with that. The only thing new to me is the thickness of the pages as this is the 1st time I will be using TRP.
I picked this 2025 planner the moment I saw it has the most spacious and intuitive design out of all intl planners I found online, just exactly what I need. They also ship very promptly.

The Take-A-Note planner is well-designed, with each week spread out over four pages, giving the user plenty of room to schedule events and take notes. There is a week-at-a-glance section for pre-planning, with a small monthly calendar at the beginning of each week. I search annually for a new layout, but I find myself returning to Take-A-Note every time. This year, I received a version that I did not order, and the customer service was excellent. A new planner was sent immediately. I genuinely appreciate this level of service.

Super love this planner, will use this for 2025 again
This is my new go-to planner for memory keeping. I used to use the weekly pages of Hobonichi Cousin but the extra space in the T.A.N. gives me more room for stickers and notes. I Love it!

The Take a Note A5 is honestly one of my most favourite planners. The paper is the most delicious for writing on and I can't wait for the 2025 pre-order for another one!
Closest to the Hobonichi planner I have seen by far. I would have kept this planner had I already not bought my Hobonichi. I gave it to my daughter as her Christmas present and she loved it. I’ll be purchasing this for myself next year. The week section is not a full two page spread. There isn’t a daily section .. which is fine for me since I don’t write as much.

I've been looking for a paper diary for a while and this brand was recommended across a couple Reddit threads.
Honestly, this is the the most PERFECT planner. Plenty of space with days blocked out by hours, weekly and monthly overviews, moon phases, lays flat (!!!) and great quality paper.
The packaging it arrived in was so chic better than the cheap cellophane wrapping you usually get.
This is definitely going to become my go-to planner. When is 2027 coming out
